For over 30 years the Volunteer Exchange has been at the heart of volunteerism in the community. Dedicated to making our community a better place to live, the Exchange has mobilized concerned individuals and local businesses to get involved in solving today's complex problems.
The Exchange recruits, interviews, and refers volunteers of all ages and walks of life to over 600 nonprofit agencies who registered needs with our office. The individual's skills, interests, and talents are then matched with those of the agency. The organizations we serve include youth clubs, agencies serving the handicapped, nursing and convalescent homes, senior centers, shelters for abused and battered women and/or children and many others.
Working with local courts, Volunteer Exchange places individuals in community service, under direct court order or in lieu of fines and/or incarceration. Not only do these volunteers provide valuable support to non-profit agencies, but also these services help keep local beaches, parks, and highways clean and attractive. A partnership with local, county and state governments provides volunteer services that save public tax dollars that can be used to address other serious community needs.
